Laura Miles
Hello, my name is Laura Miles, and I am in my final semester at Gateway! I am extremely excited!
This would not have been possible without the help from scholarships. I am truly grateful for the Dee's Angels Nursing Scholarship and the donor who made it possible!
After I graduate in December, I plan to start my career at one of the local hospitals. I know words could never express how appreciative I am to be able to attend a school that helps students so much financially, a true blessing.
Thank you to each and everyone who made my dream of becoming an RN possible. I will be forever grateful.
Meghan Young
Hello, I've attended Gateway for four semesters but only in the Allied Health program for the last two semesters.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I wasn't able to participate in clinical's last semester, so I'm really excited to get this semester started. I can't wait to start practicing what I've learned in a hospital setting.
Besides taking a full class load, I work as a nanny to help finance my education; although, I've had to cut back my work hours extensively due to the time and energy required for the pre-nursing program. However, it's all paying off. I'm proud of the 3.0 GPA I've been able to maintain with my busy schedule.
I am so grateful for receiving Dee's Angels Nursing Scholarship. This scholarship helps alleviate some of the financial burden placed on me since I'm paying for college myself. This scholarship allows me to stay focused on my studies and time management skills so that i can excel in the nursing program.
My future goals are to graduate from Gateway and transfer to Northern Kentucky University. Eventually, I would like to work with babies, young children, or the labor delivery area at a local hospital.

Jamie Galliher
I feel so blessed that I am a Nursing student at Gateway. It has always been a dream of mine to become a nurse. From the time I had to take care of grandmother for four years until she passed away. After that I knew I wanted to make a difference in the way nurses treat patients. I want to thank Dee's Angels for helping me make my dreams come true.
Ciara Mobley
After graduating from high school in 2012, Ciara began taking pre-nursing courses at NKU. While she enjoyed her classes and the topics she was learning about, she struggled to keep up. At the time, she lacked the time management skills and preparation needed to succeed in pre-nursing courses. On top of these struggles, she faced personal and family issues and made the
decision to drop out of college and enter the workforce. During her break from college, Ciara gave birth to her son who is now 6. Becoming a mother motivated Ciara to further her education and follow her dreams.
“My son is my biggest inspiration. I want to show him that you can do anything if you’re determined and remain positive. I want him to see that things happen in life outside of your control, but you shouldn’t let that get in the way of becoming the person you want to be.”
Ciara is grateful to have the support of the Dee’s Angels Scholarship. Without this scholarship, she would have had to take out student loans and go further into debt.
“Thank you so much for your generosity. This scholarship is setting my son and I up for a successful future and I am very appreciative.”
Ciara plans to begin her career as an RN after graduating from Gateway. She is looking forward to finishing her education and spending as much time as possible with her son. She is unsure what floor she’d like to work on but is hopeful
